Do You Doodle?

So, you’re bored; preoccupied; you have lots on your mind; nothing on your mind.  What do you do?  Sometimes with pen in hand, we find ourselves just doodling; drawing, writing, whatever comes to mind.  Often it’s when we’re in a meeting, class, or on a long phone call, and we just start mindlessly drawing simple little objects.

ImageAll that doodling just might do us good.  Listen to this: scribbling and drawing pictures often reduces stress that has been building up inside.  A British study shows that doodling helps distract us from our problems and eases our anxiety.  And graphotherapy experts say drawing loops, like in a spiral, is the best doodle to do.
